Mark is the Senior Instructors at Capital Soo Bahk Do (Florey) and has over 20 years experience in Martial Arts. Mark started training under Master Glenn on the 26^th of November 1987.  He graded to Cho (1^st) Dan on the 26^th of September 1992.  He graded to Ee (2^nd) Dan on the 26^th of November 1994 and Sam (3^rd) Dan on the 12^th of October 2002. In 1999 Mark traveled to Japan and China for training having many unique and memorable training moments.

In September 2005 Mark traveled to Korea where he undertook his Sa (4^th) Dan grading at the  Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa, the week long grading for people testing in the Master Ranks (4^th Dan and up).  This grading is supervised by Kwan Jang Nim (Grand Master) HC Hwang of World Moo Duk Kwan.  At this same grading Mark also tested for Sa Bom Certification (the highest instructor certification in Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan).  Mark extended his stay in Korea to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan.

Mark has been teaching since September 1990, assisting at the Florey Do Jang until moving to Sydney in 1997.  In Sydney he was part of the Instructing staff until his return to Canberra in February 2001.  Upon his return to Canberra he assisted Brown Sa Bom Nim at the Hughes Do Jang and D Koina Sa Bom Nim at the Gungahlin Do Jang.  In August 2007 Mark moved to the Flory Do Jang to be part of the Instructor Staff there.

Mark Koina is the Regional Examiner for Region 3 Australia (ACT and NSW) and prepares paperwork and the testing dates for the Dan Shim Sa’s in the Region.

Mark has been a dedicated student of Glenn Sa Bom Nim sice he started training in 1987.
